Annette Giesriegl’s studies of overtone singing, throat singing and Indian music with an emphasis on Indian vocal techniques give line to the textural play of piano and violin. Harnik and Blunt work within an electro-acoustic inspired sound-world, using unique preparations and extended techniques. Klammer‘s drums and subtle electronics bring expressive punctuation and a huge range of colour, providing the musical glue to the ensemble.
The quartet plays purely improvised music. All established on the international improvisation scene, the four musicians perform music created entirely in the moment from a starting point of contrasting histories, energies and aesthetics.
